How My Farm Model works

From the ground under your feet to a 30-year financial picture you can act on. Here's the whole path.

Add your farm and draw your paddocks

Sketch your boundaries on the map. My Farm Model pulls soil from CSIRO's Soil and Landscape Grid (water-holding capacity, clay, bulk density and pH across six depths), over 130 years of climate from SILO / Bureau of Meteorology, and your paddock's slope and drainage — for every block you draw. No manual data entry.

Build a scenario from your assumptions

Pick varieties and My Farm Model applies their real tolerances — frost, heat, water-use efficiency and disease resistance — then runs the agronomy through APSIM against your soil and climate. Set your prices and costs, layer in interventions like adding water or improving soil, and star your baseline scenario.

Compare, then decide

Every scenario returns APSIM-simulated yields — stress-tested against dry, normal and wet seasons — and the 30-year financials that follow: revenue, cost and profit per hectare, plus NPV and payback. Line them up against your baseline and see, in dollars and hectares, which call is worth making.

What you can model

Adding water. What irrigation actually buys you in yield, cost and payback.

Improving soil. Liming, amendments and organic matter over the decades.

Changing varieties. Match tolerances to your climate and soil.

Disease pressure. See the yield and dollar cost of susceptibility.

Expansion. Buying or leasing the next block, modeled to 30 years.

Price and cost shifts. Stress-test commodity prices and input costs.

Questions farmers ask

Where does the soil and climate data come from?

Soil comes from CSIRO's Soil and Landscape Grid of Australia (90m resolution, six depths). Climate is SILO data — over 130 years of Bureau of Meteorology records interpolated to your location. Yields are simulated with APSIM, the model agricultural researchers use. You can adjust any assumption if you know your ground better. More on the data behind My Farm Model →

Is this a live farm-management or IoT tool?

No. My Farm Model is for strategic planning — modeling decades ahead before you commit capital. It doesn't run your irrigation or track day-to-day operations.

Can I share a scenario with my banker?

That's the point. The 30-year NPV and payback are built to stand up in a lending conversation, grounded in the physical model of your land.

What does it cost?

Free while we're in early access. We're working with our first farmers to get the model right before we set pricing.
